1930 – 2013 Jim was born in Tulsa, the third of four boys, to parents Ruth and Ira Crews, Sr. He died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 14th. Jim is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Jacki Crews and a large and loving family including his younger brother, the Reverend Billy Crews (Ann) , Daisy Lou Gaskill, wife of his older brother Dr. Robert L. Jim and wife, Jacki were blessed with three children, Randy Crews of Tulsa, Tricia Crews McDonald (Frank) of Tulsa and Jack Crews of Dallas; along with eight grandchildren, Chelsey Garrett (Craig) of Fulshear, TX, Ashley Crews of Norman, Jarrod Crews of Durango, CO, Frank McDonald (Joy) of Jacksonville, FL, Patrick McDonald of Tulsa and Chad, Caroline and Patton Crews of Dallas, TX. Jim was enjoying his family's third generation with the addition of greatgrandchildren, Frank Fisher McDonald (Jacksonville), Addison and Brody Garrett (Fulshear) and Jaxon Mason (Norman). Jim grew up in Tulsa, beginning his education at Lee Elementary School before moving on to Central Junior and Senior High Schools. He graduated with the Class of 1948. Jim then went on to the University of Oklahoma where he was President of Delta Upsilon Fraternity and graduated in 1952 with a BBA degree. After college Jim served as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force SAC in Misawa, Japan. Jim and Jacki were married in 1953 and settled back in Tulsa. He began his career in the family business, Crews Lumber & Sup- ply, where he worked alongside his father, Ira Sr. and his brother, Ira Jr. Later Jim bought Ranch Acres Lumber & Supply and went into business on his own. He operated his business until a fire destroyed it in 1964. Jim then acquired Collinsville Lumber and Supply, along with another lumber company in Pryor, leading to the opening of his largest center in Owasso. Jim was always known for his sense of humor, his love for music and dancing, and a fondness for the outdoors. He raised English Setters and loved hunting quail and pheasant. Jim took up golf late in life and mastered the game enough to record several holes-inone and win the Senior Club Championship at Southern Hills Country Club. A devoted father, Jim often could be found filming his children playing golf, roaming the neighborhoods with them on Halloween or amusing them with a good prank. A loving husband and loyal friend Jim was spontaneous and fun-loving. He brought laughter to those around him and he was a treasure to his family as they always were to him. The family would like to thank the caregivers who supported and aided Jim during his years at home, along with physician, Dr. Fred McNeer. They also would like to thank Amy of RoseRock Hospice and dear friend of the family, Kelley Scott of Clarehouse. Service for Jim will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, April 22nd at St. Johns Episcopal Church, Tulsa, OK.
