GEORGETOWN - Becky Brittingham went to be with her Lord on May 13, 2011, at Delaware Hospice Milford Center with her family there to comfort and support her. She was 52.
Mrs. Brittingham graduated from Lake Forest in 1976. She worked for the state of Delaware as a secretary for 18 years. She started in the Treasury office for 10 years then spent the last 8 years working at the Indian River School district.
She was a softball mom that followed Erika everywhere she played. Erika attends Salisbury University where she has played softball for the last 3 years. Becky loved being in the kitchen cooking and baking. She enjoyed doing things for others always putting others before herself. Her life was her family, she will be severely missed by those who knew and loved her.
The family would really like to thank the Delaware Hospice Milford Center nurses, doctors and staff for all their help and support during Becky's illness.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Brittingham of Georgetown; daughter, Erika Brittingham of Georgetown; parents, Robert and Dorothy Collins of Harrington; grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Collins of Harrington; and a best friend Lisa Banks who visited her every day during her illness.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Dougie" Collins; and grandparents, Walter and Marie Messick.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington. A visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, are encouraged.
