Mrs. Vena Stalnaker Frey, 68, died at 8 p.m. Saturday at her daughter's home in Des Moines, Iowa where she had been visiting for the past two months. She had been ill the last year.
During her childhood, Mrs. Frey moved to Romney, where she lived for 16 years. She moved from there to New Richmond where she had resided for the past 25 years.
Born Aug. 1, 1889, at Hoopeston, Ill. she was the daughter of Warrick and Mary Stalnaker. She was married to John Frey in 1908 at Stockwell.
She was a member of the New Richmond Methodist church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Merrit Walton of Des Moines, and Mrs. John Walters of Brownsburg; seven sons, Harold of near Smartsburg, Jack of Lafayette, Earl of Baldwin Park, Calif., Robert of Milwaukee, Wilbur of Long Beach, Calif., Kenneth of New Richmond and Max Frey of Crawfordsville; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the New Richmond Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Wade officiating.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the services. Burial will be in the New Richmond Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Russell E. Brown Funeral Home in Linden after noon Tuesday.
