On Tuesday evening, December 16, 2003, God decided it was time for Frank Franklin to join his lifelong partner, Hattie Franklin in heaven. Frank McKinley Franklin was born November 23, 1919 in South Carolina however lived most of his adult life in the Richmond area up until his death at age 84. Frank was a loving husband and father and he touched the lives of all of his family members. A recipient of the Purple Heart, Frank was a very brave and courageous man who was proud to have served his country in the Army. His beloved wife, Hattie Franklin and sons, Douglas Franklin and George Franklin preceded him in death. Frank is survived by his three caring daughters, Betty Dunford, Peggy Trent and Jane Weeks. He is also survived by two loving sisters, Doris Lorentzen and Agnes Martin; five grandsons, four granddaughters, 14 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. Frank was blessed by and grateful for the care he received from his family and caregivers. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Road where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 18 and where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday December 19. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
