EDWARD BUCKLEY BROWN

71, of Southaven, retired terminal manager for A&H Truck Line, died Monday at Methodist Hospital South after a long illness.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memorial Park.

He was an Army captain in World War II and the Korean War. He was awarded the Air Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a recipient of the American Campaign ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, Distinctive Unit Citation and Korean Service Ribbon.

He was a member of Summerwood Baptist Church and a former deacon for Boulevard Baptist Church.

He was a former summer league baseball coach and scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 57.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Louise L. Brown; two daughters, Mrs. Edena Louise Marshall of Miami and Mrs. Mary Nelis Murphy of West Point, N.Y.; a son, Edward Buckley Brown, Jr. of Collierville; two brothers, Harry Davis Brown of Memphis and Thomas O. Brown of Akron, Ohio and six grandchildren.
