SYCAMORE -- Myrtle I. Newland, 81, of 2398th 107, Route 1, Carey, died unexpectedly at 2:55 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 1988, In Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
She was born in Wyandot County On October 9, 1906, to Floyd and Alvena (Richardson) Burks. On October 29, 1925, she married Edward Newland, who died February 6, 1986.
Surviving are three children: Delbert, Payson, Ariz.; Mrs. Donald (Clarabelle) Clark and Mrs. Wayne (Doris) Flack, both of Route 1, Carey; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Bernice Dawson, Willard; Mrs. Dale (Edith) Dick, Clyde; and Mrs. Mac (Mary) Coppler, rural Carey. One grandson, three sisters and one brother are deceased.
Mrs. Newland had spent most of her life in Wyandot and Marion counties. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville and the Wyandot Homemakers Club. She was a former member of the Beraca Philathea Sunday School Class.
The Rev. Anne Kear will conduct the funeral at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville. Burial will be in Old Mision Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Friends may call at Walton Moore Funeral Home after 1:30 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of Wyandot County.
