On Christmas Day she was visiting with friends, and while her physical condition was not of the best, it was but two or three days ago that she was stricken and was unable to be about the house. Her condition gradually grew worse until the end came last night, with members of her family by her bedside.
She was a woman of model character, kind and charitable, who commanded the esteem of neighbors and friends. Her loss will be a loss to the community for she took an active interest in the welfare of South Scranton, was active in a Christian way at the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church and was one of its most exemplary members and a generous supporter. She was also active in the work of the Ladies' Aid Society.
Born September 28, 1854, Mrs. Miller was a lifelong resident of South Scranton. Her death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alex Straff, 448 Willow Street. Besides Mrs. Staff she is survived by two sons, Frederick and Edward.
The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence, where services will be conducted by Rev. Theodore F. Hahn, of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, and interment will be made in Pittston Avenue Cemetery in the family plot.
