ELIZABETH BATEMAN

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Bateman, 79, of 39 Blair Ave., Rock Springs, who died Monday in St. Mark’s Hospital, Salt Lake City, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Bishop Elwood Robins will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be E. Woodrow Hunter, John B. Dickson, James O. Johnston, Clarence Sargent, Albert Sellers and Ellis Fox.

Mrs. Bateman had entered the hospital Sept. 2 for surgery. A resident of Rock Springs since 1925, she was born in Almy, Wyo., June 12, 1890, the daughter of the late James and Pamela Dexter Attryde.

She was married to William Albert Bateman in Cumberland, Sept. 17, 1907.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Shedden, Rock Springs, and Mrs. Dorothy Perry, Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, John Dexter, Rawlins; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Higgins, Hanna, and Mrs. Mary Fredricks, Laramie; five grandsons, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and of the church Relief Society, Mrs. Bateman was preceded in death by her husband, who died Sept. 2, 1963, and two sons, James, in 1935, and William, 1910.
