Lela, sometime shown as Lelia, was the 9th of Amaziah Robert & Sarah Ann (Fowler) Sparks 11 children.

Two years after her birth in Goldendale, the family moved to Mossyrock, Lewis Co, WA. More about her adventurous father his memorial.

Lela's first marriage was to Fremont DeForest Scammon in Lewis Co, WA on January 4, 1899.

On June 20/21, 1900, Lela & Fr. Scammon, ages 40 & 21, owned a farm in Union, Lewis Co, WA. They had been married two years. Fremont's daughters, Anna N. & Ruth D., ages 13 & 10, lived with them.

On April 22, 1910, Lela & Fremont owned a stock ranch in Princeville, Crook Co, OR. They had been married 12 years; Lela had given birth to two children: Calvin E. & Melissa, ages 9 & 1 year & 7 months.

On Jan. 14, 1920, Lela & Fremont, ages 64 & 35, owned a stock farm in Fife, Crook Co, OR. Lela had given birth to Williama A., age 9.

They parted ways, and Lela married George Geigner in Clark Co, WA on November 16, 1922.

Lela's third & final marriage was to Elmer Leonard Grubbe.

On May 4-6, 1940, Lelia & Elmer L. Grubbe, ages 57 & 59, owned a farm valued at $1500 in Salmon Creek, Lewis Co, WA. Lela's g-daughedaughter, Marjie G. Scammon, age 18, lived with them.

Elmer died in Deschutes Co, OR on July 21, 1951, & was buried in the cemetery where his first wife was buried.

Services are pending at the Boone Chapel of the Brown Mortuary Service, Chehalis."
