MRS. ELLEN TILLOSTON CALLED TO FINAL REST
Well-Known Woman Passed Away After an Illness Lasting Several Months.
Mrs. Ellen Tilloston, aged sixty-eight years, widow of the late Charles I. Tillotson, passed away this morning at 5:50 o'clock at her residence at 1121 Charleston avenue. Death was due to heart trouble.
Mrs. Tillotson had been in failing health since the death of her only child, Dr. C. H. Tillotson, last April. She had been bedfast for about five weeks, during which time her condtition had been such at times as to cause the relatives to give up all hope of recovery. The end came as no surprise to those gathered about the bedside.
Funeral services have not been arranged. The services probably will be held from the First Congregational church on Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be made in Dodge Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Tillotson was born in Plattsville, Wis., sixty-eight years ago. She became the wife of Charles I. Tillotson about forty-eight years , the ceremony being performed in Charleston. For about thirty-five years Mrs. Tillotson had been a resident of Mattoon, although on one occasion, a few years ago, whe went to Ellensburg, Wash., to live with a sister and later lived for a while in California. For some time immediately preceding her death she had been making her home in Mattoon.
Dr. C. H. Tillotson, who died last April, was her only child, and there survive only three sisters, Mrs. Grace Richmond, wife of G. S. Richmond of this city; Mrs. Mildred Matlock of Ellensburg. Wash., who has been in Mattoon for several months, and Mrs. Blanche Stulfath, also of Ellensburg.
