John Pollock. Well Known Harness Maker is No More.
John Wesley Pollock died at his home on Patton street at half-past 5 o'clock last evening, aged 70 years. Death was due to heart trouble. Mr. Pollock came to Zanesville when a boy and learned the harness makers' trade, which he has followed for the past fifty years. He was married to Susan Philips, April 3, 1853, and has resided in this city ever since. He is survived by a wife and six children as follows: Stephen, of Indianapolis; Charles and John, Mrs. Charles Hess, Mrs. Charles Hartmeyer, and Mrs. August Hartmeyer, all this city. The deceased was a soldier of the war of the rebellion, having served in Company A, 159 Ohio Volunteers. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
