MRS. GRIFFITH DIES IN FORT WORTHOn July 15, 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Beatrice Skidmore Griffith died following an illness with pneumonia. She was born on August 25, 1906 in Rio Grande City, the daughter of Thomas B and Margaret H Skidmore who were pioneer school teachers in Starr County.She is survived by two sons, Ralph Edward Griffith of Bishop's Lodge, Oakley Green, Windsor, England; and Robert Hamilton Griffith of Houston. Also surviving Mrs. Griffith are seven grandsons and one granddaughter, one brother, Edgar H Skidmore of Mexico City, two sisters, Nerva Skidmore Eller of Lima, Peru and Effie Skidmore McIver of Fort Worth, nine nieces and three nephews, and a brother-in-law, Orrin Griffiths of Mt. Clemens, Mich.Memorial Services were held at Trinity Episcopal Church by Father David Comegys. Mrs. Griffith's body was taken to Charlotte, N. C. and interred beside her husband, Ralph E. Griffith Sr.Mrs. Griffith was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, American Legion Auxiliary, and Trinity Baptist Church of Charlotte, N.C., where graveside services were held.Mrs. Griffith became ill after attending a Skidmore family reunion celebrating the 85th birthday of her brother, Edgar H. Skidmore of Mexico City, which had been attended by more than 200 relatives and friends.
