Anna Mae Estes
Anna Mae Estes, 97, of the Brethren Home in Greenville, Ohio, and formerly of Winchester, Ky., passed away at 7:35 p.m. on May 15, 2011, at Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville.
She was born Aug. 22, 1913, in Estel Co., Ky., to the late James and Ada (Richardson) Witt. Anna Mae was married to William Martin Estes, and he preceded her in death on May 20, 1999.
Anna is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James O. and Martha M Hensley, of Greenville, Gerald C and Carol J. Hensley of Troy, and daughter-in-law Carolyn Hensley of Ludlow Falls; nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; sister Edna E. Epperson of Lexington, Ky., one brother and sister-in-law William and Edna Witt of Winchester, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Charles W. Hensley, granddaughter Holly Hasting, daughter-in-law R. Elizabeth Hensley and four brothers, Corbin, Leo, Eldon and Donald Witt.
Anna was a member of Calvary Christian Church of Winchester, Ky., AARP Old Pine Grove Homemaker and Senior Citizens. She retired from the Avon Army Depot. Anna loved gardening, cooking, sewing and she very much enjoyed her family.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. David Leckrone officiating.
Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.fisher-cheneyfuneralhome.com.
