Rebecca Chapin Bean, 76, of 108 Sunny Lane, Grandy, NC died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Born in Raleigh, NC, she was the daughter of the late Earl E. and Margaret Chapin and was the wife of the late Lawrence L. Bean [they married May 5, 1956 in Wake County, NC.]

Mrs. Bean is survived by her daughter, Angela Nanette [Bean] Owens and husband Andrew Jenkins "Drew" Owens of Powells Point, NC; her son, Christopher Bean of Dare County, NC; a sister, Sarah Everly of Fredericksburg, VA; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Tatum, Eric Owens and Chris Bean.

Memorial services were held Monday, May 16, 2011 at St. Philips Episcopal Chapel, 200 South McMorrine Street, Elizabeth City, NC, the Rev. Jim McGee officiated.
