She may well have been a daughter of Thomas Williams, born 1703 at Albany, New York and Maria Van Hoesen, born about 1720 at Albany, New York.
Ann Williams and her husband John Bay had six known children. They were: Jane Bay, born about 1775, who married her father's law student, William W. Van Ness, Jr., Dr. William Bay (1773 - 1865), Thomas Bay, born about 1779 at Claverack, John Bay, born about 1782 at Claverack, and Harmon (or Herman) Bay, born about 1785 at Claverack. Also it appears from burial records at the Dutch Reformed Church of Calverack that there was a daughter Mary Bay who was born in 1770 and died in 1808. Two of the children were physicians and one was a lawyer. I believe that William and John were the physicians and that Thomas was the lawyer.
