Maridean Banks Brewton,92, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was born April 3, 1922, in Glennville to Eden and Ruby Bacon Banks and lived here all her life. She attended Draughn's Business College and was employed with Bland Farms for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Beard's Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by husband, Foch Brewton, brothers, Revis Banks, Larry Banks, Ed Banks: sisters, Marjorie B. Durrence and Dealva Banks.
Survivors include children, Wayne Brewton, Brenda and Larry McLeod, Sandra and Delbert Bland, all of Glennville; brother, Ned Banks of Glennville; sisters, Deloris Harlow of Waycross and Linda Waters of Savannah; grandchildren, Landis and Leah Bland, Troy Bland, Courtney and Matthew Howell, Justin and Sarah McLeod, Alison and Anthony Weitman, Carla and Steve Rush, Mark and Cheryl Brewton, Wayne and Nickie Baker, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Beard's Creek Primitive Baptist Church,
with rev. David Summerford and Rev. Gregg Ussery officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Landis Bland, Mark Brewton, Troy Bland, Steve Rush, Justin McLeod, Wayne Baker, and Anthony Weitman.
