Mabel I. Cole, 77, of Grand Ridge died Wednesday morning, March 14, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Ridge with the Rev. Robert Karjala officiating. Burial will be in Grand Rapids Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grand Ridge Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cole was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Farm Ridge Township, to Clement and Effie (Mitchell) Black. She married Henry Cole on Aug. 21, 1943.
She was previously employed at Owens Illinois Glass and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, LaSalle County Home Extension, Good Will Club and Ottawa Woman's Club. She bowled in the Ladies Commercial League from 1966 to 1999.
She graduated from Ottawa Township High School in 1940.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Linda (Kenneth) Trager of Grand Ridge; five sisters, Dorothy Connelley of Ottawa, Katherine (Berkley) Poundstone and Vera (Carl) Rowe, both of Grand Ridge, Maxine Bennett of Streator and Irene Arkels of Leonore; two brothers, Glenn (Genevieve) Black of Streator and Robert (Delores) Black of Grand Ridge; three grandchildren, Ted (Janna) Trager, Jackie (Keith) Stevenson and Donald Trager; and four great-grandchildren, Ali and Nicole Stevenson, Colten and Lindsey Trager.
She was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy; a sister, Marie Lehr; and two brothers, Roger and Richard Black.
