Daughter of Alex & Emma S.
Stone has recently been replaced (June 2012). The cemetery records do not indicate exactly where her original grave was, so her stone has been placed near the graves of her grandparents. Nettie's was among a group of gravestones that were vandalized, then piled near an old shed for a number of years. In 2012, a concrete slab was poured near the cemetery entrance, and the other stones whose original location could not be determined were placed on the slab.
In the years that Nettie's stone was not in the cemetery, it was lovingly cared for by her cousins. She is not forgotten!
Child's History of Waseca County, pg. 270:
Nettie, four-year-old daughter of Mr. Alex. Brisbane, then of Wilton, was so badly scalded by falling upon a kettle containing boiled potatoes that she died March 9 (1873), after twenty-four hours of great suffering.
