STOWE - Constance "Connie" Clark Bull, 76, a longtime resident of Stowe, passed away in Fletcher Allen Health Care of Burlington following a brief illness.

Born in Holyoke, Mass. on Sept. 17, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Francis Raymond Clark and Agnes (Draghi) Clark.

On April 8, 1961, she married William Tillinghast Bull in Stowe. Mr. Bull passed away on March 29, 1994.

Connie was a 1952 graduate of Holyoke High School and then worked as a secretary for the Monsanto Corporation for several years. Moving to Vermont in 1957, Connie settled in Stowe where she met her husband, Bill, and together they ran the former Old Shoe Skiers Dormitory for 10 years. Busy and happy as a homemaker and raising her children, she later went to work at the Union Bank in Stowe for several years before embarking on a 25 year career with the Town of Stowe, first working in the Town Clerk's Office and then with the Selectman's office, from which she retired. Since 1999 Connie was a member, served as a director and had been secretary for the past three years for the Stowe Historical Society. Her other memberships included the Stowe Tennis Club, the Stowe Country Club and working as a volunteer for the Stowe Rotary Club. In her leisure time she enjoyed tennis, gardening, golf, and skiing, both downhill and cross-country. Connie had a keen interest in local and state politics and was active in the community of Stowe as a volunteer. Connie is lovingly remembered by her family for her deep affection for her children, her grand- children (who affectionately called her "Muzzie"), and her vibrancy in all of the many aspects of life she was involved in.

Connie is survived by her children, Barbara Fitch of Stowe and William T. Bull, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of San Diego, Calif.; her four grandchildren, Ryan Bull, Jason Bull, Lily Bull and Eliza Fitch; two sisters, Margaret Keith and her husband, David, of Holyoke, Mass., and Frances Clark of Branford, Conn.; a brother, James Clark of Holyoke, Mass.; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Barbara Zolin, Sally Clark and Nancy Moynihan.

Funeral services will be held from the Stowe Community Church on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in the Riverbank Cemetery in Stowe.
