GENNARO "GERRY" MARSICO
AGE: 63 ELBERON
Gennaro Pasquale Vittorio Marsico, well-known as "Gerry", 63, of Elberon, Long Branch, died Easter Sunday April 4, 2010, at home. He was born in Miglierina, Catanzaro, Italy and lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada before moving to Elberon in 1982. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch. He was a tailor owning Gerry's Tailor Shop in Elberon from 1982 until 2004. Prior to that, he was a salesman in the men's department at Eaton's of Canada.
He was predeceased by his son, Anthony, in 2003; and his parents, Giuseppe and Gennarina Torchia Marsico. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Oldham Marsico; daughter, Anne-Marr and her husband Colin Ramsay of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Marsico of Neptune; brothers, Antonio and his wife Teresina Marsico of Winnipeg, Frank and his wife Raefellina Marsico of Long Branch, and Lucio and his wife Bernadette Marsico of Vancouver, BC, Canada; and four grandchildren, Julianne, Anna, Emily and Evan.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 8 at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Ocean Township. The funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 9 from the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church, West End, Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to St. Barnabas Hospice, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740. Condolences may be emailed to [email protected] and will be received by the family.

Gennaro "Gerry" Marsico was a member of the Elberon Engine Company #4 of the Long Branch Fire Dept.
