COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 03/08/1968

Mrs. Alberta Knoop (Billie) Bauer, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, died at a hospital there about 3 p.m. Monday [March 4, 1968]. She was formerly of Louisville. Survivors include her husband, Godfrey F. (Red) Bauer, a former sales manager for WINN radio station; a daughter, Mrs. Milton Mellard, Fairbanks, AK; and a grandson. The funeral and burial will be Friday in Fort Lauderdale.

Alberta K. Bauer, 60, of 3210 NW 5th St., Ft. Lauderdale, passed away Monday [March 4, 1968] at Broward General Hospital. A substitute school teacher in Broward County, she came here 17 years ago from Louisville, KY. Survived by: her husband, Godfrey F.; one daughter, Mrs. Leslie Mellard of Fairbanks, AK; one grandson; and one sister. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass: Friday 9:30 a.m., St. George Catholic Church. Interment: Lauderdale Memorial Gardens. Arrangements: by Baird Case W. Broward Funeral Home.
