Services Friday for Mrs. Anna Elbl

Mrs. Anna Elbl, mother of Louis Elbl and sister of Mrs. Josephine Bruer, passed away at 5:45 Wednesday morning at the local hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Elbl, who was 84, sustained a broken hip three years ago and had been bedfast much of the time since that accident. She made her home with her son, but entered the hospital Sunday night when her condition worsened.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Porter Funeral home at 3:30, rather than 2:30 as originally planned.

Mrs. Elbl was born in 1870 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and came to Kansas with her parents in 1879. The family moved to Sterling in 1883, and in 1886 she was united in marriage to Louis Elbl, sr., who proceeded her in death five years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Elbl lived in Sterling their entire married life.

Surviving are one son, Louis of Sterling; three sisters, Mrs Josephine Bruer of Sterling, Mrs. Emma Adams, Little River; Mrs. Mayme Felt, Hollywood, Calif.; three brothers, Joe Beyer of Hereford, Texas; Ed Beyer and John Beyer, both of Wichita.
