--She married #1 Michael Hefley in Feb. 1830 in Cabarrus County, NC. The following year Barbara and her husband moved to Illinois along with her parents John G. and Rachel Lipe. Barbara & Michael had 10 children who survived infancy: Margaret, Mary Magdalene, Rachel, Francis Marion, Mariss Maria, Barbara H., Martha J., Louisa, Lucretia, and Rhoda C. Hefley.
--Following her husband's death, Barbara married #2 Michael Simeon Walcher on Feb. 8, 1852. Most unusual, Barbara was 42 and her 2nd husband was 23! This marriage produced 2 sons: Michael Luther & John Erastus Walcher.
--She died at age 79. Her widower later married one of Barbara's sisters.
