Elsie Jane Bennett

Elsie Jane Bennett, 70, Clifton, died Friday, May 15, 1992, in the Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Born Jan. 16, 1922, in Mason County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Olevia (Gibbs) Roach.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Bennett, Sr., who died in 1966; a sister, Goldie Blake; and step-granddaughter, Tammy Allensworth.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Hoffman of Clifton; two sons, James H. Bennett, Jr. and Samuel J. Bennett, both of Clifton; two stepdaughters, Patty Allensworth, Mason, Martha Bealer, Chillicothe, Ohio; sister, May Wamsley of Clifton; two brothers, Melvin Roach of West Columbia, Floyd Roach of Forest, Va.; special friend, Emma Rogers of Letart; 10 grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Monday, 1 p.m., at the Foglesong Funeral Home with Tim Vaughn and John Elrod officiating. Burial will be in the Suncrest Cemetery, Point Pleasant.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, 6 to 9 p.m.
