Mr. Tate died May 13, 2011 at his residence in Kirbyville.
Jewell was a native of Blairsville, Georgia and a longtime resident of Kirbyville. He was a retired Staff Sergeant in the U S Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Tate is preceded in death by daughter Pam Tate.
Survivors include wife Vonita Tate of Kirbyville; sons Jewell Tate, Jr. of Athens, Georgia, Adam Charles Tate of Richmond, Virginia, William Remick Coward of Vidor, Victor Reese and Kevin Reese both of Spurger and Orren Smith of Fred; daughters Sheila Garland of Nicholson, Georgia, Julie Behl of Bristo, Virginia, Joyce Moore, Linda Watts, Tammy Callaway and Vonda Gore all of Fred, Essley Tucker of Woodville and Paje Denman of Vidor and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
