Merton Vannoy was born February 8, 1909, in Logan County, IL, son of Abraham Lincon and Hattiett 'Ella' Upton Vannoy.
He married Dorothy Franz June 21, 1943, in St. Louis, MO.
Surviving are his wife; children: Judith Ann and Dennis Lee Vannoy; a brother, Harold; sisters, Gladys Bruner and Lois Jones; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Note: obituary says he was born in Logan Co., Il; but his son, Dennis (#48629689), says he was born in Canyon, Lubbock County, Texas, USA According to the 1920 census - it lists him being born in Texas.
