Margaret E. Miles Davis, 93, of Attica, died in her home near Attica at 3:42 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011. She had been battling leukemia.
Born in Rob Roy on April 3,1918, she was the daughter of the late Cecil R. and Mary Johnson Miles. She was raised in the Hedrick area and graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1936.
On Nov. 23, 1937, she married Harold F. Davis in Remington. He died Oct. 17, 1982.
She and her husband resided in West Lebanon until moving to Attica in 1948.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and farm wife. She had been a bus driver for Attica Consolidated School Corp. since 1972.
She was a member of the Attica-Williamsport Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing euchre, rummy and being with her family.
Surviving is a son, Gary A. Davis (wife: Priscilla) of Attica; a daughter Karen Kyle (husband: Dale) of Newburgh; two sisters, Lois Mielke of Danville, Ill., and Helen Davis of Peoria, Ill.; and a brother, Donald Miles (wife: B. J.) of Williamsport.
Also surviving are 2 grandsons, Chris Davis (wife: Lisa) of Newton, Iowa, and Aaron Davis (wife: Christine) of Attica; and 4 great-grandchildren, Laura, Nathan, Aria and Elias Davis. Preceded in death by a sister, Alice Massing; and 2 brothers, Billy and Robert Miles. She was noted for her angel food cakes and egg noodles.
Friends may call at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, May 15, from 3-6 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 16, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
