Ruth LaFleur Manning Amick a long time resident of the St. Helens area passed from this life at the age of 91. Two grandsons; Stuart and Warren, four great-grandchildren, daughter Audrey and sister, Violet, survive Ruth. Daughter, Roxie, brother, Anthony, husbands, Charles and Clarence all preceded Ruth in death. Ruth was born in Bemidji, Minnesota. Her family moved to St. Helens when she was five. Ruth has resided in the area except for 12 years in Portland. As a long time member of the Catholic Church she completed eight years at St. Frederic School. She was very active in the Meals for Seniors Program when it was in her church. Ruth was an avid gardener of beautiful flowers and a great housekeeper, cook, baker and candy maker. Her candies were very popular at the annual church bazaar. In later life she enjoyed traveling, fishing for salmon and trips to Reno. Ruth will be remembered as a hard worker who always did her very best. She will be missed. Funeral Services will be on Friday at 2:00 PM at St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens.
