AUGUST CARSTENSEN - WYOMING
Funeral services for August Carstensen, 56, Wyoming, were held at Wyoming Methodist church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial was in Wyoming cemetery.
Mr. Carstensen died Thursday at University hospital, Iowa City, after a short illness.
He was born near Wyoming March 1, 1915, the son of August and Katherine Petersen Carstensen. He graduated from Wyoming high school in 1933 and farmed with his parents as a young man.
On Jan 27, 1945, he was married to Lois Bahnsen at Davenport. The couple made their home in Wyoming until 1950 when they moved to their present farm just east of Wyoming.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Dennis, of Maquoketa; three grandchildren.
Also two brothers, John of Clarence and Herman of Wyoming; four sisters, Mrs. Wolber Paulsen, Mrs. Elmer Bahnsen, Mrs. Raymond Dusanek of Wyoming and Mrs. Max Thomsen of Olin.
One brother preceded him in death.
