Leonora, a native of Guachupangue of the Española Valley, was predeceased by her parents Adolfo Garcia and Maria Ella Vigil; sister Leonora and brother Apolonio, both passing early in life; other siblings and their spouses her sister Marina (husband Filadelfio Rodriguez), Cordelia (husband Leopoldo Romero), Apolonia (husband Samuel Trujillo), her brother Leo (wife Isabel Chavez), Feliciano (wife Adelina Archuleta), her brother Luis (wife Julia), her brother Elias (wife Asencion "Sennie" Alarid). Leonora was also predeceased by her husband of 72 years James H. Rodriguez.

Leonora had five children: Jimmy, Angie (deceased) Eddie (married to the former Connie Salazar), Dolores and Emily. Leonora had 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; She was survived by sister Teresita Martinez (husband Augustine) of San Pedro.

Leonora was a substitute teacher and teacher assistant for 15 years with the Espanola Public Schools. Leonora was very involved with the church Santa Cruz de la Cañada where she was married in 1937. She was a Eucharistic Minister at church and visited the Española Hospital for 15 years, and was a teacher in Christine Doctrine for 20 years under the direction of Sister Norina and Sister Angie. Leonora was a member of the "Las Carmelitas" and a life-long member of the Sagrada Familia. Leonora prayed the Holy Rosary every day for members of the family and for world peace. Leonora with her husband James attended the Rosary Rally in Albuquerque for many years and traveled to the Shrine of St. Therese "the Little Flower" and Lourdes. Her life was highlighted with her devotion to the Blessed Mother of God. Her legacy was love, patience, a supportive and devoted wife, a great cook, a good mom and grandma and she had a very strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.

A Rosary was recited on May 11, 2011 at Santa Cruz de La Cañada. The mass of Christian burial was on May 12, 2011. Burial followed at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers: Monica Roybal, Marissa de Aragon, Angelina Trujillo, Melonie Rodriguez, Lanelle Rodriguez, and Danielle Mendoza. Honorary pallbearers: Jacque Rodriguez, James Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, Carl Trujillo, Chris Trujillo, Gabriel Sanchez, Mark Sanchez, and Patrick Rodriguez.
