Married Daniel Andrew Rhoades on 03 JAN 1878 in Knox County, Missouri in the presence of John Arment and family by Jacob Rhoades, Justice of the Peace.

MO d/c 31481—Gives Mary's birth as 1869, but if you go by her age given on dc, 74y, 9m, 10d, it is correct as birth year of 1861, which is as family records also indicate.

Services at Mt. Pleasant Church — Death at 74 After Long Illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel A. Rhoades of the Mt. Pleasant vicinity southeast of Novelty, who died at 9:20 o'clock Monday evening of last week at the age of 74 years, were at the Mt. Pleasant Church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon of last week by the Rev. F. M. Branic of Shelbyville. Burial was in the Cockram cemetery. Six granddaughters were pallbearers.
Mrs. Rhoades who died of a complication of diseases, was ill about ten months and seriously so three weeks.
Surviving Mrs. Rhoades are eight children: Jacob M. and Clyde Rhoades, Novelty; Frank Rhoades, Knox City; Lee Rhoades, Leonard; Earl Rhoades, Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. Florence Anderson, Mrs. Golda May Steward and Mrs Alma Simpson, Novelty.
Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five sisters and brothers who are: Mrs. Lewis Wilson, Edina; Mrs. Sallie Murray, Hurdland; Mrs. Eva Cheatum, Pueblo, Colo.; Bill Arment, Kahoka, Mo., and James Arment, Novelty.
Mrs. Rhoades was the seventh of eleven children of Martin and Rebecca Arment and was born in Taylorville, Ill., Nov. 14, 1861, as Mary C. Arment.
She married Mr. Rhoades Jan. 2 [sic], 1879 [sic], and to them were born thirteen children, of whom the eight mentioned survive, three died in infancy and two, Mrs. Elvira Harris and James Elmer Rhoades, died in maturity.
Mr. Rhoades died Aug. 26, 1924, twelve years to the day previous to the date of Mrs Rhoades' burial. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church a number of years.
