DIED IN ILLINOIS
Mrs. Janie Melburn died at Atlas, Illinois, on Friday, February 24 at 4:30 a.m. She was buried on Monday evening at 2:00 p.m. The funeral was from the Christian Church and was attended by a very large concourse of relatives and friends. The interment took place in Pettit [sic] cemetery.
The deceased was twice married. Her first husband was James Akins, a former resident of this place. By this marriage there were two children. Her later marriage was to John Melburn. To this marriage two children were born. She is survived by her husband and children. Her age was 62 years, 11 months and 20 days.
Her son Henry Akins, of near Locust Hill, and two of her brothers, M. S. and James Arment of this county were summoned to her bedside last Tuesday and remained until after her funeral.
Mrs. Melburn was a member of the Christian Church. She was a faithful wife and living mother. She leaves besides her bereaved family a host of friends to mourn the loss of a kind neighbor and a good woman.
