Born in Bavaria, Germany, May 4, 1862, she came to this country and to Utica in 1883. On Sept. 8, 1886, she married Mr. Witte and the couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary last September.
Mr. Witte, who died in March, was head of the J. B. Witte & Sons Plumbng, Heating and Tinning Company. Mrs. Witte was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Altar Society and the Unter-Uns of Utica Maennerchor.
Survivng are two daughters, Miss Frances A. and Miss Ann R. Witte, Utica; seven sons, John A. Witte, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Henry F., Fred M., Aloys C., George N., Joseph A. and Charles L. Wite, all of Utica and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 8:45 a.m. Saturday from her late home and at 9:30 from St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. OBSERVER-DISPATCH, UTICA, NY; 1946
