Asheboro, N.C. - John Carter Thomas, 48, died Tuesday at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro after injuries he received in an airplane crash. Mr. Thomas was a native of Bulloch County and a 1960 graduate of Statesboro High. he was territorial sales manager with Implement Sales of Atlanta and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 28 in East Point.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eugenia Moore Thomas, Asheboro; two daughters, Lydia Maness and Emily Thomas, both of Asheboro; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Thomas, Statesboro; one sister, Mrs. Margie Hendley, Statesboro; one brother, Cliff Thomas III, Douglas; and two grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Hulsey officiating. Masonic graveside services will be in in Eastside Cemetery. Hodges-Turner Funeral Home.
