DeAlva Deloach Thomas, 70, died late Friday night at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart attack. The Evans County native spent several years with her husband in the military before moving to Statesboro in 1977. She was a member of Statesboro First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Thomas Sr., Statesboro; one daughter, Mary Kay Stratton, Waldorf, Md.; one son, James E. Thomas Jr., Statesboro; one brother, Winton Deloach, Statesboro; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Hodges-Turner Funeral Home, with Dr. Hugh Davis officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
