MANY ATTEND RITES FOR JENS JENSEN
EAST ORTON - Funeral services Saturday for Jens Jensen, 86, a pioneer resident who died at his home Thursday, were attended by a large crowd of friends. He had lived in Wadena county since 1892. Pallbearers were Milo Marshall, A.M. Anderson, Mike Benson, George Gedde, John Nelson and John Hunt.
Mr. Jensen was born in Denmark, May 18, 1853. He married Lena Pederson Nov 11, 1879 at Thorop, Denmark. Mrs. Jensen and 10 of their 14 children are the survivors. They are Nels Jensen, Mrs. Bert Marshall and Mrs. Elmer Olson of Sebeka, Mrs. Joe Reece of Glasgow, Mont., Mrs. Tillie Hannah of Grand Rapids, and Alfred Jensen of Minot, N.D.
Other relatives attending the funeral from a distance were Wm. Pederson of Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jensen of Fargo, Marvin Marshall and children of Sauk Centre, Mr. and Mrs. Ellwyn Marshall and children of Dodge Center and George Marshall of Sauk Centre.

Jens Jensen, 85 Years Old, Died On June 29 - Came To This Country In 1892; Funeral Held Sunday Afternoon
Jens Jensen, a respected citizen of the Nimrod community since 1892, passed away on June 29, at his old home, the present Elmer Olson place.
Deceased was born in Denmark on May 18, 1853. He was united in marriage to Miss Lena Peterson on November 11, 1879, at Thorop, Denmark. To this union were born ten children, four of whom are dead and six living, two sons and four daughters. Those left to mourn his death are his wife, Mrs. Lena Jensen; and children as follows: Nels Jensen, Mrs. Bert Marshall and Mrs. Elmer Olson, of Sebeka; Mrs. Joe Reece, of Glasgow, Montana; Mrs. Tillie Hannah, of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Alfred Jensen of Minot, N. Dak. He is also survived by thirty-eight grandchildren and forty-four great grandchildren.
Deceased and his wife came to this country in 1892 and settled on a farm near Nimrod, and where they have resided since that time. He was a man of integrity and his friends and neighbors held him in the highest esteem.
Funeral services were held at the old farm home Sunday afternoon with Rev. John Turnbull delivering the funeral sermon. The pallbearers were Milo Marshall, A.M. Anderson, Mike Benson, George Gedde, John Nelson, and John Hunt. Burial was in the Oylen cemetery.
Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. Pete Hansen and family of Fargo, N.D.; Mrs. Tillie Hannah and son, of Grand Rapids, Minn.; Mrs. Joe Reece and children, of Glasgow, Montana; Alfred Jensen and family, of Minot, N.D.; Fred Pederson, of jackson, Minn; Marvin Marshall and children, of Sauk Centre, Minn.; Ellwyn Marshall and family, of Dodge Center, Minn., and George Marshall, of Sauk Centre.
