Last Rites Monday For Michael Dillon

Michael Dillon was born near Glasco, Kansas, February 3, 1887, and departed this life June 21, 1956, of a heart attack at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 18 days.

He was the son of Michael and Mary Downey Dillon, who were among the first settlers of this section of the county.
On May 24, 1915, he was united in marriage to Reta Tilton and to this union three children were born, Paul Robert, of Glasco, Lucille Graves, of Glasco, and John dying in infancy.

Mike, as he was known by all, attended Harmony school and spent his entire life in that community on the Michael Dillon, Sr. homestead. He will always be remembered for his keen sense of humor, love of children and interest in life and friends.

He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church.
He leaves to cherish his memory his widow, two children, two grandchildren, Mary Jane and Nancy Ellen Graves, four Obsisters, Mrs. Julia Boltwood of Glasco, Kansas, Mrs. Ella Kimmerling of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Katherine Richard, Aurora, Kansas, and Mrs. Agnes Richard, Denver, Colo., also a large number of nephews, nieces and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Nora Brady, Topeka, Kansas, Mrs. Mary Driscoll, Oklahoma City, Okla., Margaret Dillon of Glasco, also three brothers, Charles, James and Thomas of Glasco.

Requiem mass was conducted by Rev. John Koerperich from the St. Mary's Catholic church, Glasco, Kansas, Monday morning, 9 a.m. June 25, 1956.
Music was furnished by St. Mary's choir and a solo, "Prayer For a Perfect Life" by Robert Pitner.
Terry Dillon, James Downey, and Richard Elliott acted as servers. Pallbearers were Raymond Richard, Leo Pilcher, Francis Dillon, Jerry Porter, Pearl Richard and Richard Markland.
Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery, Glasco, Kansas with Haley Funeral Home in charge.
