Lura Mae Folk, 100 of 891 Dorsey Hotel Road, Grantsville, Md., and formerly of Springs, Pa., died July 15, 1999, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home.

Born Sept. 10, 1898, in Elk Lick Township, she was the daughter of the late Jonas and Alice (Yoder) Ash. Preceded in death by her husband, Cleman E. Folk, and a daughter, Roxanna Whisner. Mrs. Folk was one of the founders of Keystone Lime Co., a former schoolteacher and homemaker, charter member of the Springs Historical Society, a lifelong member of the Springs Mennonite Church where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher and in other capacities, and attended Juniata Teachers College. Survivors include a son, Mark J. Folk, Springs; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Springs Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating. Private interment, Springs Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Springs Historical Society, P.O. Box 62, Springs, Pa. 15562. Arrangements by Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Md.
