JOHN AHLERS
John Ahlers was born June 29, 1880, at New Vienna and married Lena Burlage Sept. 27, 1904. John operated Ahlers General Merchandise Store in New Vienna. Children Gene of Dyersville; Irvin of Cincinnati, Ohio; Elmer, Francis of New Vienna; Aloys of Davenport; Julianna, Edna, Marie of New Vienna; Germaine (Mrs. Frank Ungs) of Dyersville; Verna (Mrs. Arthur Kruse) of Bettendorf; Isabelle (Mrs. Doc. Lourdes Donahue) of Davenport; and two children in infancy. John died June 18, 1957, and Lena June 29, 1939. Both buried at New Vienna.
