George Robert Aycock, 90, of the 400 block of San Antonio Blvd., died April 13, 1997, in his residence.
Born in Henderson, N.C., he was formerly married to the late Margaret S. Aycock. He retired from Sheller-Globe Corp. division of Mitchell and Smith in Norfolk. He was an active member of Talbot Park Baptist Church. He was a chief engineer while serving with the Merchant Marine during World War II. He graduated from T.C.C.
Survivors include his daughter, Shirley V. Aycock of Norfolk; two nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by his parents, George Arthur and Annie L. Aycock.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Talbot Park Baptist Church by Dr. Harry T. Dixon and the Rev. M. Keith Martin. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Talbot Park Baptist Church.
