Funeral services were held from the Fischer residence Saturday morning by Rev. Robert A. Goodwin of the Episcopal Church and Rev. Charles M. Wales of the Christian Church. Interment was made in the Redd burial grounds near the home. A choir from the churches of this city sang appropriate music during the final rites. A large number of Martinsville people attended the funeral.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Dr. Sanner, Chicago; Misses Carolyn Fischer, Baltimore; Pattie and Lucy Fischer of Greensboro, and Grace Fischer of Ridgeway; Messrs. John Gill Fischer of Florida, Richard W. Jr. and Louis Fischer of Ridgeway; one sister Mrs. J. B. Walker of near Ridgeway survives.
The deceased was preceded to the grave by her husband about fifteen years ago. The late Mr. Fischer was a well known citizen of Henry County and served for a number of years as superintendent of schools for this county.
