He was born September 21, 1902 in Greenville Township, the son of the late Daniel and Deliah (Enfield) Baker. He is survived by his widow, Rosella (Ash) Baker, five sons, Paul, at home; Clark of Oakland, Bernard of Canton, Ohio; Ronald of Reno, Nevada and Clifford of Kent, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Mae Bietzel, Grantsville; Mrs. Joan Opel, Bittinger and Mrs. Kay Marshall, Carlisle, one sister, Luemma Otto, Springs; grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Springs Mennonite Church. Services were held May 1 at the Newman Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Kraybill. Interment was in the Springs Cemetery.
