Mabel Coffin was born in South Bend, Blue Earth County Minnesota in 1868 to Edwin Coffin and Mary Polson. She, along wit her sisters would move west to meet their father in Glendale, Montana in about 1878. Eventually, the sisters relocated to Dillon, Montana where Mabel married Harlan Thompson May 17, 1893 in Dillon, Beaverhead County Montana. They moved to the Billings, Montana area where Harlan served a term as Mayor beginning in 1909. He also established the Billings Lumber Company. Their children: Son, Harlan, Jr. and daughter Miriam. Mabel died at age 97 in 1966.
