Duluth News-Tribune Jan. 11, 1913 page 4 THREE SWITHCHMEN DIE IN MILL CITY YARDS Minneapolis - Jan. 10 - Edward Cheatham, M. J. Boose and Homer Sloniker, three swithchmen, lost their lives early today when caught by cars while switching. Boose and Sloniker were attempting to make a coupling in the Soo yards when cars were shunted upon them in the darkness, both losing their lives. Cheatham, a Great Northern employee, had both legs cut off and although he made toruniquets for himself with bell rope and sticks, died from loss of blood a few moments before a physician reached him.
