Lake City - Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred Gilliland, 70, of Lake City were held Saturday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at the Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City. The Rev. James Ford, pastor ot the Rockwell City Presbyterian Church officiated. Pallbearers were Harvey Finney, Robert Finney, Frank McCaulley, Helo Buhs, Bernard Carey, and Merlin Kalser. Burial was in the Lake City Cemetery.
Anna Lusk, daughter of John Henry and Mary Lusk, was born at Tabor, Iowa July 3, 1887. On January 23, 1909, she married Alfred Gilliland at Forbes. Mo. They were the parents of four children. They lived near Mound City, Mo., until September, 1925, when they moved to Lake City. They have also lived near Pocahontas and at Rockwell City. Six years ago Mrs. Gilliland's health failed and since that time she had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Ray Barnhoft, first at Rockwell City, and more recently in Lake City. She died July 17, 1957 at her daughter's Lake City home.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters, three brothers, one grandson, and one great granddaughter.
Survivors are her husband, Alfred Gilliland,, Lake City; three daughters, Mrs.Ray Barnhoft, Lake City; Mrs. Ralph Schulte, Pocahontas; and Mrs. Hans Oye, Waterloo; one son, John Gilliland, Lytton; 28 granchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur Lusk, Clearmont, Mo.

Mabel, John, Artie, and Grant Lusk.

NOTE: Anna's mother, Mary Ann Sheirlon Lusk is also buried at the Lake City Cemetery; birthdate - 1861 and death date - 1927. She was born in Wisconsin, and married to John Henry Lusk in 1881.
