Mrs. Mary Jane Adams, wife of James I Adams, died in the Harrisburg Hospital shortly before midnight on last Friday night, April 10, having lived ten days with a bullet of a 32 caliber in the center of her brain. Her sons John and Samuel Adams, and a daughter, Mrs. Annie Bitloe were in Harrisburg when she died. The tragedy of the accidental shooting at the home in Beechersville took place March 31 and the tragedy was foretold to a son and daughter. For some days the woman seemed to hold her own though the physicians could hold out no hope. Last week a change took place and she failed rapidly. She was 52 years of age and her maiden name was Mary Jane Baker of Buchanan Valley. She leaves four sons, and three daughters, Harry of Buchanan Valley, Joseph, of Chambersburg, Samuel of Toledo, Ohio, John and Virgie at home, Mrs. Annie Bitloe of Middletown, and Mrs. Mary Wolf of Youngstown, Ohio. Three sisters and three brothers survive, Mrs. Robert Mickley, of near Fairfield. Mrs. Andrew McKendrick of Buchanan Valley, Mrs. Wm. Naylor of Illinois, Frank, Daniel and Emanuel Baker all of Buchanan Valley.
