James D. Walsh Succumbs After Short Illness

Dumont, Iowa, February 10 (handwritten note 1960), Funeral services for James Dale Walsh, age 78, were held Tuesday at 1:30 O'clock, in the Dumont Reformed Church, with Rev. E. W. Smidt officiating. Burial was made in Oakhill Cemetery near Bristow.

Mr. Walsh became ill Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Pohl, with whom he had resided for many years, of a heart attack and was taken by ambulance after dinner to the hospital where he passed away that evening about 6:00 O'clock.

He was born March 18, 1882, near Clarksville. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pohl and Mrs. S. R. Piper, both of Dumont, a number of grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Susie Flanigan, Mrs. Ethel McNeilus, both of Bristow, Mrs. Mae Ufford and Mrs. Alma Gabriel, both of California, and one brother George Walsh of Bristow.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, John and Floyd, a granddaughter and several brothers and sisters.
