Mildred Geneva "Peggy" Norris was the beloved daughter of Duncan C. Norris and Pauline Haithcock Norris. Mildred Geneva "Peggy" Norris Seacrist was born on Aug. 22, 1931 in Gastonia, Gaston Co., NC and died on Oct. 14, 2009 in Little River, Horry Co., SC at the age of 78. Peggy and Johnny Seacrist lived most of their life in Fayetteville, Cumberland Co., NC, near Fort Bragg where MSG John Paul Seacrist Retired.

Peggy married John Seacrist on Feb. 28, 1952 in Bennettsville, SC and had one son, Billy Joe Seacrist, born on Oct. 4, 1952. John Paul Seacrist died at the age of 77. Johnny, Peggy, and Donald are all buried in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, Manchester Township, Cumberland Co, Fayetteville, NC.

Obituary of Mildred Geneva "Peggy" Norris Seacrist

LITTLE RIVER, S.C. - Mrs. Peggy Norris Seacrist, 78, of Little River, S.C., and formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, in Eastman, Ga. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, N.C. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mrs. Peggy Seacrist was born in Gastonia, Gaston Co., NC, and was presently living with her son, Billy Seacrist of Eastman. She was a cosmetologist, daughter of the late Pauline Haithcock Norris and Duncan C. Norris. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Seacrist; a son, Donald G. Collins; and a grandson, John Paul Seacrist II. She is survived by her son, Billy Seacrist (Connie) of Eastman; three granddaughters, Christina Nicole Seacrist, Kathleen Marie Seacrist and Kimberly Robin Aracho; a great-grandson, Seth Farley; a sister, Geraldine Hall of Suwanee, Ga.; three step-granddaughters, April Moore, Ginger Watkins and Sandy Hardy; and five great-step-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite No. 10, Raleigh, NC 27615; or to The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren of Fayetteville.
