Hampton - Funeral services for Mrs. James Stockdale, 83 who died at her home Thursday after 10 days' illness with flu, were held at her home Monday afternoon, with The Rev. D.M. Beggs, pastor of the Congregational church in charge and burial at Hampton.
Mrs. Stockdale, was born at Clonas Ireland, in 1856, and came from there to Aplington, Iowa, 15 years later with a brother and sister.
Her marriage took place there in 1872. Surviving are four sons, William of Morgan township; Louis, Joseph, and Howard and a daughter, Mrs. Fred Philpott, all of Hampton, a brother at Devil's Lake, N.Dak., and two grandchildren. A son Jess was killed four years ago in an automobile accident.
