Wilma F. (Trudy) Martinson 93 and a longtime Hoquiam resident died on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. She was born on September 30, 1916 at Malad, Idaho to Frank and Mae (Patrick) Burks. The family moved to Pasco, Washington when she was five, than to Shelton at age of eleven and than to Copalis Beach when she was fifteen.
She married Archie Utter and they were later divorced. She had worked for the Aberdeen VFW Club for 11 years and than attended Beauty School. She had worked for different salons before opening her own shop in her home until 1966.
She married Carl "Cal" Martinson on December 29, 1966 in Reno, Nevada and he died in 2001. She loved her grandkids and loved to play with them and to spoil them. She loved to garden and had belonged to the African Violet Club of Grays Harbor.
Trudy is survived by a daughter, Beverly A. Cornell of Central Park; one son, Gary Utter of Hoquiam; a sister: Juanita Bergland of Aberdeen; grandchildren, David, Tammy and Jason Cornell; and great grandchildren, Alex Cornell and Ann O'Keefe.
She was precedd in death by a brother, Dallas Burks and sisters, Lucille Arbogast, Emma Bruner and Vita Pearson.
